ICT 4 the Elderly 3rd Project Meeting in Ljubljana

Project partners from Belgium, Germany, Malta and Switzerland were hosted for the third project meeting by the Slovenian partner organisation, Simbioza, in Ljubljana. The meeting took place on the 28th-29th January 2020 and it was a great opportunity to discuss and define many issues before the training starts in March.

The training will indeed be held in March from the 11th-17th in Malta and from 22nd-28th April in Berlin. Two different groups of 12 people each (3 people per organisation) will be trained to become ambassadors and disseminate the project afterwards within their communities.

All partner organisations are now involved in the selection of the participants that will take part in the training. A number of criteria needs to be looked at when selecting these participants: being able to speak English; being motivated; flexibility and adaptability etc.

The training activities foreseen in the ICT 4 the Elderly project are quite special compared to those of many other projects. Instead of having the training in each project country separately, this will be held together by partner organisations. This means that participants from the different countries will work together and will have the chance to interact with each other.

ICT 4 the Elderly has therefore a learning dimension as well as an intercultural one and we look forward to knowing whether this approach was successful and whether our seniors benefited from it. This will also give a good input to write the project’s policy recommendations for other organisations which want to implement the same methodology as well as policy makers.

More updates will come after the first training round in March!
